Save WhatsApp audios with an Android device

Thanks to the not-so-closed architecture of Android, you can directly access downloaded audio files from WhatsApp chats. Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions .

1st step:

Open the file manager on your Android smartphone . There you go to the internal memory .

2nd step:

Then navigate to " WhatsApp " and " Media " one after the other . In this folder you will now see the sub-folders " WhatsApp Audio " and " WhatsApp Voice Notes ". All audios and voice messages that you have sent or received in WhatsApp are stored in these two folders. Open one of these folders depending on which audio file you want to back up.

3rd step:

From here you can select the files you want and move them to a location of your choice , copy them or share them directly . If you want, you can also transfer the files to your computer by simply plugging in your smartphone and then navigating to the correct folder again.

On iOS, WhatsApp stores audio files in its own isolated app storage that other apps cannot directly access. However, if you are using the latest version of WhatsApp and have the latest version of iOS installed on your iPhone, there is an easy way to save audios. Open WhatsApp on your iPhone and navigate to the chat that has the audio you want to save. Then hold it down until the menu appears.

Now select " Forward " here.

Then tap the icon at the bottom right to share the file.

Then choose " Save to Files ".

Now select " iCloud Drive " and tap on " Add " in the top right corner .

Now open the Files app on your iPhone.

Then go to " iCloud Drive ".

You will now see the audio file you just saved, which you can share from there. When you sign in to iCloud on your computer , the file will be available there too.
