If you want to play various browser games, videos or other multimedia browser content in Safari, you often need the Adobe Flash Player. In order to be able to use this, you have to download and install the Flash plug-in or activate it for pages afterwards.

Note : Adobe is saying goodbye to Flash at the end of 2020.

Install missing Flash Player

If the Falsh Player is already installed on your Mac, you can skip these instructions and read directly how to activate the Adobe Flash Player . Otherwise, follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions ..

1st step:

Go to a page in the Safari browser that requires Flash Player. We choose the adobe.com site as an example . Here click on the placeholder " Missing plug-in ". If this placeholder does not appear, you have already installed Flash Player and can jump to the second guide .

Then click on " Load Flash ".

The Adobe Flash Player download page opens. Click here on " Download Now ".

4th step

Install the downloaded .dmg file on the Mac as normal. Open the file and click " Install Adobe Flash Player ". Then follow the steps of the installation wizard. Then Flash is installed on your Mac.

Activate Flash Player in Safari

If Adobe Flash Player is already installed on your Mac but does not work in the browser, it may be because the plug-in is simply disabled. You can find out how to activate the plug-in in our step-by-step instructions or the quick start guide .

Open Safari on your Mac, select the top of the menu bar " Safari off" and then click " Settings ". Alternatively, you can also press the [⌘] + [,] keys .
