Since El Capitan, Apple has offered a useful function for all Macs - the so-called "Split View". This allows you to share your screen and use two apps or programs in parallel without having to drag the windows to the right size yourself. In the following we will show you how to activate and use Split View very easily.

Activate Split View on the Mac - this is how it works

Follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions .

1st step:

Open both apps / programs that you want to use at the same time. Then go to the green button for full screen mode in one of the windows in the upper left corner and hold the mouse button down until the window shrinks. Then let go of the mouse and the window will be arranged on half the screen.

If you now click on the window with the other program / app , it will be inserted into the other half of the screen.

You can now work in both windows in parallel. Activate the respective window with one click. You can change the positions of the windows by dragging one of the programs to the other side with the mouse button held down. You can change the size of the window by dragging the dividing line to the left or right with the mouse button pressed. To exit Split View mode , move the mouse to the top of the screen and click the green button for full screen mode again.

quick start Guide

  1. Click the green full screen mode button in a window and hold the mouse button down until the window shrinks. Then release the mouse.
  2. Now click on another open window to fill out the second half of the screen.
  3. You can now adjust the position and size of the window to suit your requirements.
