On iOS, you can have your contacts' birthdays reminded automatically without having to manually create an appointment. The birthdays are then displayed directly in the calendar and, depending on the setting, you will receive a message in the morning of the respective day. How to enable birthday reminders on iPhone

1st step

Open a contact card in the contacts app of your iPhone and tap on " Edit " or create a new contact card by tapping on the " + " symbol on the start page.

2nd step

Scroll to “ Add a birthday ” and tap on it. Enter the appropriate date and then click " Done " to save the changes.

3rd step

Now you have to activate that the birthdays are also shown in your calendar. To do this, switch to the calendar app and tap on " Calendar " at the bottom .

4th step

All calendars that you have created, subscribed to, or shared with you are displayed here. Scroll down a little to the " Other " area and check " Birthdays " there. Then go to " Done " in the upper right corner .

5th step

To receive a reminder on the day of the birthday or shortly before it, switch to the settings of the iPhone. Scroll down to the menu item " Calendar ".

First tap on " Standard Notes " and then on " Birthdays ".

7th step

Select one of the options to be notified on the morning of the birthday or further in advance. You will then automatically receive a message reminding you of your contact's birthday.
