Tried several times and doesn't work!! So disappointed that having transferred all contacts from old phone, each photo didn't go with it.
Press phone, contacts, orange circle and that's as far as it goes...........
annoying!!!
Open contact and press hamburger. Go to "Manage contacts" and select "Default storage location". Select "Phone". If SIM card is default storage location you cannot assign a photo to a new contact. If you cannot assign a photo to any of your present contacts that mean they are saved on sim card. Move them to phone
