If this has not worked for you to change the language of your Windows Vista, do this:

Get on this page and download the language you need and want to put: Windows Vista x86 and x64 language files

I leave the Windows Vista in Spanish:

For Windows Vista operating systems (X86)
Download the following package that brings the Spanish language.
  • http: //www.download....0fa3d8a76d.exe
For Windows Vista systems (X64)
  • http: //www.download....097b0474b05.exe
Once downloaded the MUI Package, (multilingual User Interface) we put it in a folder (create a folder and put it in it).

Download the Windows Vista MUI Tools program

Unzip the file with Winrar and run the utility.

Click on Install in Method1, select the MUI file of the language that you downloaded, save the file that generates it in the same location, when it finishes, press InstallMethod2 and select the file that generated it.

It gets installed in the background, it will take about 20 minutes. When finished, a window will appear as in Japanese asking, press the option on the left that is yes.

A message will appear after the installation has finished.

Finally we execute the Regedit (keeping Windows key and pressing the R will go window to execute), we have to make a backup first (in case a problem arises or we want to return to the previous language), it is done like this:
click on File / Export and save a copy of the record.

Now let's go to HHEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SYSTEM / CURRENTCONTROLSET / Control / Mui / MUiLang
And in that folder we will see two languages, the old one and the new one, we only have to erase the old one. [p.ejemplo = en-US (English) and es-ES (Spanish) ]

We delete the folder of the language that we do NOT want.

When restarting we will see that the language is changed. image
