How to fix verification failed on iPad

I have an iPhone 5c and I've tried connecting to my iTunes and the Apple Store in my settings, but I keep getting a "Verification failed. There was an error connecting to your Apple ID." Error. I don't know how to solve this problem. When I go to my iCloud on my iPhone it says my email is not verified, even though I went to my email and verified it it is not recognized as verified on my iPhone .

This could be due to several scenarios. One of the most common things to check is if you are actually connected to the internet (preferably WiFi)? I've seen a lot of people not realize they weren't connected, especially after an iOS update.

Additionally, two of the most common things to try are:

• Restarting your iPhone completely (i.e. holding down the Power and Home buttons for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on a black screen)
• Disconnect and reconnect. (See steps below)

You don't actually specify which version of iOS you're using, but here are some generic steps to follow:

1. Go to Settings > iTunes & App Store
2. Tap your Apple ID at the very top
3. Tap Logout
4. Now log back in

In my case, I was trying to disable Find iPhone so I could erase a phone. This produced the verification failed error. Signing out of iTunes didn't help. HOWEVER, signing out of iCloud, rather than turning off Find iPhone, worked. Then I could reset the phone.

It was driving me crazy! By accident, the “automatically set date/time” had been turned off, and the date was way off. Reactivating it made everything work again! Apple ID worked and all Google apps (YouTube) started working again.
