How to hide the Hidden folder / album from the Photos app on iPhone or iPad. (totally hides photos and videos)

The Photos App for iPhone and iPad has a large number of functions that allow you to properly manage all the photos and videos. One of the most useful functions is the possibility of hiding photos and videos so that they disappear from any of the albums in the Photos app. In this way, the hidden photos or videos will only be available in the Hidden Album, but of course the Hidden Album, if it is visible to everyone. Can iPhone Hidden Album be hidden?

The answer is Yes. After the release of iOS 14 or higher, iPhone or iPad owners will be able to hide the Hidden Album from the Photos app. Until now, when we hid any photos or videos from the Photos app, they were basically hidden from all the albums in the Photos app and only showed up in the Hidden Album. But of course, this means that we do not really hide the files but we move them to a specific Album / Folder..

This was not to the liking of many users, who demanded an improvement in this function that would also allow the Hidden Album to be hidden. In this way, when we hide photos and videos, the files will continue to be stored in the Hidden Album, but this will also be hidden within the Photos app, so no one will have access to those photos and videos directly from this app.

To hide the Hidden Album on iPhone or iPad we will only have to carry out a small configuration through the Settings that we show you below. That said, below we want to show you in detail how to hide the Hidden folder of the Photos app on iPhone or iPad:

How to hide the Hidden folder / album from the Photos app on iPhone or iPad. (totally hides photos and videos)

1. As we have mentioned, the first thing to do is check that you have updated your iPhone to iOS 14 or later.

2. If it's up to date, open the Settings app .

3. Scroll down until you find and select: Photos

4. Once inside this configuration, locate: Hidden Album.

5. Make sure that the switch for this function is off, which will make the Hidden folder / album not visible from the Photos app..

6. If the switch of this setting is activated, the Hidden Album / folder will continue to be shown and therefore you will have access to all the photos and videos hidden in the Photos app of your iPhone or iPad.

When we have the Hidden Album hidden and we hide photos and videos on our iPhone or iPad, these files will be sent directly to the Hidden Album under the Utilities section. However, now this album will disappear from this section and is not available to the user from the Photos app. This means that if you want to access the hidden photos and videos on your iPhone, you will have to activate the Hidden Album again. In this way, when said Folder is visible, we can open the photos app and there will be the Hidden Album with all the hidden photos and videos stored inside..

Without a doubt, this feature was highly anticipated for all privacy-conscious users. There was no point in having a function to hide Photos and Videos if anyone still had access to these photos from the Photos app itself. Now when we hide Photos and Videos, we can definitely hide them by preventing direct access to them from the Photos app itself.
