UPnP stands for "Universal Plug and Play" and makes the digital networking of your household much easier. How to grant a network share for certain devices or software. UPnP can be activated with just a few clicks. There are actually two different places where UPnP can be activated - depending on the desired functions. On the one hand, you can use it to stream media directly to Windows PCs. On the other hand, for some online games, UPnP functions must be switched on directly on the router. We will show you here how you can do this via the port sharing of the FritzBox.

In Windows, you can easily activate UPnP: Search for " Media streaming options " in the start menu and click the corresponding button. Select " Activate media streaming " there ". You may have to confirm this entry again with your admin data. These usually correspond to your login data for the computer.
